April – A Month of Sundaes.

My favourite part of dinner is right before I undo my belt and call it a night, it’s that moment my spoon lasts up to five seconds in my mouth trying to gather every single (or double) bit of cream I can.

Desserts. Oh.My.

If I could replace them for every course, I so would and luckily for me, someone has! Terri Mercieca’s 5 course, dessert-only supper club concept launched last year, and somehow I did not know about it, HOW?! This year, they’re back for a ‘Month of Sundaes’ – celebrating desserts on the 4 Sundays in April (5,12,19,26) and they’re kicking off with a chocolate special on Easter Sunday.

“Every Sunday in April, Happy Endings Dessert Nights are in residence at Restaurant Bar Pond Dalston NHC with A Month of Sundaes, a sophisticated five-course dessert night of decadent fun with hints of silliness. There will be a new menu each week, which of course includes an original new ice cream Sundae – all of that goodness includes a cocktail aperitif, with optional wine pairing. The bar stays open til’ late with guest DJ Faded Glamour, so stick around and join the party!

Chocolatier and pastry chef Terri Mercieca, AKA Fraise Sauvage, is picking up her chocolate tools to kick off this new series of dessert nights. Bubbles, wine and digestifs available by the glass, bottle, or special pairing menu selected by artist and wine specialist Kirsty Tinkler, celebrating small organic and biodynamic wine producers. We won’t kill you with too much sugar or heavy puddings, expect a well thought out and perfectly balanced evening of deliciousness.

The 5-course dessert menu includes aperitif cocktail, tea and petit fours £40, or enjoy all that plus a four-course wine pairing for £55
