How to wear fall 2013 trend: Cocoon sleeve

This Autumn/winter, it’s all about rounded sleeves, curved lines and silhouettes. Designers from Balenciaga to Dior and many more have died down the hype over sharp silhouettes and gone for a softer look this season. Celebrities and big high street names have also embraced the trend by applying the new shape to more casual wear. The strong shape is most seen on coats and jackets but can also be seen on jumpers and tops and it’s a great way to add some flare to a dull winter outfit.
This vintage-inspired trend can be worn with pencil skirts or straight-leg trousers or if you want a more informal/casual look you can pair your cocoon sleeve top or coat with jeans and some pointed heels.
Although round shoulders have a delicate feel and feminine touch to it, do not hesitate to add some edge while wearing the trend, add striking accessories and jewelries to add a bit more personality to the look.
Style tip: The bigger the cocoon-ness of the sleeves and shoulder, the less textures and materials should be worn at the bottom of the outfit. This gives a balanced look and not too overdone.
